| Enoc Perez Tender November 1 - December 20 2008 Opening: Friday October 31 2008, 7 9 pm Enoc Perez (*1967 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) lives and works in New York. In his works, Perez uses a complex brass rubbing technique, during which he painstakingly transfers colours from fugitive photographic originals of elegant modernist and contemporary buildings, tropical landscapes and female nudes onto linen or paper layer by layer. Perez pictures recall serial colour studies by Warhol and Monet, which are saturated with melancholy despite their extravagant motifs lightness. Most recently, his works were presented in solo exhibitions at the Lever House in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami and the Collezione Maramotti/Max Mara Foundation in Italy. We look forward to opening Enoc Perez second solo exhibition at the Michael Janssen Gallery at the end of October 2008. | ||||
