| Denos , C-Print ,2002. | | I am fascinated by Vivid Color.I still remember why I started to love Bright colors.When I was a little girl in Japan, I saw the American Movie‘American Graffiti’ on TV. It is a story about four high schoolgraduates one late summer night in 1962. I was amazed by thecolor in the film, everybody was dressed in bright clothes, all of he cars and furniture was extremely colorful. I felt it was very‘America’ and it filled me with happy feelings. I know it was the earlier days in America. But my ‘America’is still ‘colourful’ and a little bit ‘artificial’ for me. | |

| I moved to New York in 1997. I found these bright colors, my‘America’ again, here in New York. Although there are a lot of colorful things, people just do not notice them as much as I do. I am always looking up so much more than other people. Many people told me that my photographs seem like they come from another city. But I mostly shoot in New York. My life is amazing. I am living in the Pop World like my photographs. |
